"Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm (SWSF) is a community where I feel safe, connected to so many people and other living things, and free to explore and celebrate my imagination. It is a place where learning is fun and challenging, and I wish everyone could feel as I do about school and the future." P, age 14
WHY GIVE
SWSF was founded in 1974, is a member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, tax i.d. #94-2248359.
- As our enrollment grew from 11 students to today's 384 students; our buildings and acreage expanded; we developed a sustainable biodynamic farm, and our reputation as one of Waldorf education?s exemplar institutions spread.
- Part of what makes our success meaningful is an ability to sustain and welcome more families and students to our campus.
- Our model works, and the more children and teenagers we serve, the more we change the future for all of us from the inside-out.
- For donors, we are a rare opportunity to strengthen a working model of imaginative education and help replicate it in other settings, including public and private schools.
In the 2009-2010 school year we supported our scholarship fund with two live events and an online auction. Farm Dance, Farm to Feast and our auction at biddingforgood.com earned a total of almost $100,000.
