Farm Camp 2015
Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm’s Summer Farm Camp is a nature based program that takes place on a six acre farm, with three acres of vegetables, cows, ducks, sheep, chickens and rabbits.
Music and singing begin the day as all of the children gather in a circle. Then farm chores begin; gathering eggs, planting in the garden, drying herbs or picking berries and vegetables. Some children assist the Farmer in the field work, or help cook delicious organic snacks in the outdoor kitchen. Crafts, games and stories close the day, providing the breathing out and artistic time.
We offer six, one-week sessions of Farm Camp starting June 15, 2015 and running through July 24, 2015. We meet Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 1pm. You may enroll your child in just one session or up to all six sessions! Children ages 4 – 5 will start their day in our Early Childhood yard, while children ages 6 – 10 are on the Farm. The cost is $270 per week. Please pack a lunch, but organic snacks are provided. We also offer a fun and nurturing After Care Program from 1 to 3:30pm for all children at an additional cost of $15 per day. Our staff is well trained in environmental education, bringing a "sustainable model" to the young child.
Make sure to register early to guarantee your child’s place, Farm Camp fills up FAST! Registration deadline is April 1, 2015. Both forms below are required for registration.
