2017 Farm Camp, for ages 4 - 10

Farm Camp at Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm is an opportunity for children to connect with the natural world while living into the rhythms and experience of a working farm. The day is designed to inspire a connection with and love of nature and the outdoors. Activities include gathering eggs, planting in the garden, picking berries and vegetables, cooking delicious organic snacks, crafts, games, songs and stories. Our 4-5 year old program will take place in our Early Childhood Village with regular trips to the Farm and Permaculture Garden. Our 6 - 10 year old program will take place on our Farm.

We offer six, one-week sessions of Farm Camp starting June 19 and running through July 28. We meet Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 1pm (including July 4th!). You may enroll your child in one session or up to all six sessions! Children ages 4–5 will start their day in our Early Childhood village, while children ages 6–10 are on the Farm. Please pack a lunch - organic snacks are provided. We also offer a fun and nurturing After Care Program from 1 to 3:30pm for children ages 6 - 10 at an additional cost of $20 per day. Our staff is well trained in environmental education, bringing a "sustainable model" to the young child.

All remaining weeks of Farm Camp in both age groups are full.

2017 Earth Ecology Camp, for ages 10 - 14

Earth Ecology Camp is specifically designed for youth ages 10–14. We will have fun learning life skills in ecology that can be applied in our edible food forest permaculture garden. Our day begins with plant observation in the garden and writing on the theme of the day. We will go fruit and berry picking and prepare our own afternoon snack in the Farm Kitchen. Themes of fire, earth, and water guide our curriculum and artistic activities. This includes gardening and composting, herbal crafting, paper-making, cooking, baking in our solar oven, having fun and building community! We will also explore the wild areas, tracking and observing plants and animals. We are excited that this year, Earth Ecology Camp will be taught by Summerfield Farm Teacher and Farm Camp Director, Ronni Sands! Earth Ecology Camp will meet for one week, June 26 - 30, 2017 from 8:30am – 2pm at a cost of $310. Please pack a lunch - organic snacks are provided.

This camp is complete. Stay tuned for information on next year's camp.
