Eric D. Friedlander grew up in Marin County. He headed east to the University of Pennsylvania where he earned his degree in Economics & Art History. Eric also earned his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA focusing on Entrepreneurial Studies & Finance. He is currently the CEO of Starpoint Health, Inc, a private equity backed outpatient surgery center company located in southern California. His previous experience includes international contract litigation with Cravath, Swaine & Moore, investment banking with Bank of America, and founding the ArcLight Cinema Company acting as its CFO.
Eric moved to Sebastopol from Newport Beach, California with his wife (Heather) and daughter (Sophie) in April 2010 to continue Sophie’s Waldorf education at Summerfield. Sophie attended the Waldorf School of Orange County since preschool and is now in Class Two with Mr. Allen.
Eric regularly guest lectures at the Anderson School at UCLA, the Marshall School at USC, the entrepreneurial program at UC Irvine and the Family Business Council Program at California State Fullerton.
He has served on numerous non-profit boards, including the Blind Children’s Learning Center of Orange County, Providence Speech & Hearing, and the Starpoint Health Foundation. Further, having seen over 75 countries around the world, Eric enjoys traveling, as well as practicing yoga, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
