Alain Serkissian was born, raised and educated in France and came to the U.S. at the age of 25. He has lived in Sonoma County for some 27 years. He is married to Judy Serkissian and has three great, bilingual children at Summerfield: Madeleine, 18, Chloe, 16 and Pascal 12.
He has a Bachelor in Math and Physics, and became a Senior Instructor in Physical Therapy at the University of Montpellier, France. He owned and operated Gericare, a rehabilitation company based on the East bay, which provided physical, occupational and speech therapies in various settings throughout California. Gericare's focus was to deal with the challenges that the elderly face through the rehabilitation process.
Since 2001, he and his wife have owned Mirabel Lodge, a 34-bed residential care facility for the elderly, located in Forestville. Our assisted-living clientele include residents with physical or mental disabilities. He is professionally affiliated with the Senior Housing Resource Network, the Bay Area Friends of Armenia, the Sebastopol Rotary Club, and the Sebastopol Senior Center, where he serves as a board member. He also serves on the Sonoma County Advisory Council Board for the Area Agency on Aging, having been appointed by Supervisor Efren Carillo.
