Infant & Parent Groups
We observe with careful attention and interest how the babies move and develop in the Infant & Parent Groups. A soothing environment is created through lullabies and gentle games. Toddler & Parent Groups
Adults share an artistic activity while the children play together in the Toddler & Parent Groups. The morning flows rhythmically through guided activities, which include circle time and outside play.
Exploration & Observation
Through quiet observation of the children as they move and play, adults deepen their own intuitive knowledge and discover new ways of seeing their children.
Parent Education
Many of the difficult questions facing parents today are explored in a spirit of inquiry and mutual respect. Articles on various topics for inspiration and discussion are provided. We strive to create a peaceful and nurturing experience for both parent and child.
The Blossoms
Parent/Child Preschool
As an extension of our Roots & Shoots Parent/Child Program, a new class has been created, as an introduction to our Early Childhood Program. It is called - 'The Blossoms' and is for children ages 2 '/2 - 3+ yrs. and their parents. This will be a transition from our older toddler classes into preschool.
This class will begin on September 2, 2008, and continue through the entire school year. It will be two days a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-11:30 am. The class may include an artistic activity for the parents and concentrated focus on parent education (offering parents a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of parenting the young child with an experienced Waldorf educator); a snack time, possibly with homemade bread; singing games and circle time; a simple puppet play and story; nature walks on our beautiful campus; and a rest time for all, in which parents will be taught lullabies. In early spring 2009, the parents would transition out of the class, enabling their children to begin the adjustment of experiencing school on their own.
